About HyperPhysics
- Overview: A comprehensive, interconnected physics and astrophysics instructional repository created in 1998 by Dr. Carl Rod Nave at Georgia State University.
- Structure: Designed as an "exploration environment" using concept maps and small, interconnected "cards" (reminiscent of HyperCard and neural networks) to facilitate non-linear learning.
- Interactive Features: Includes Javascript-enabled calculations and active formulas to allow users to perform numerical explorations and "What if" scenarios.
- Usage Statistics: Historically reached approximately 50 million file hits per year (estimated 3 million users annually); recent data indicates roughly 2 million file accesses per day.
- Global Reach: Distributed to 86 countries; translations are underway or licensed in German, Italian, Chinese, and Spanish.
